Couldn't I just negotiate this deal myself? +
Honestly, yes. You could. And some people do it well. What Even Ground brings is not a secret process. It's that we do this every single day. We know which fees are negotiable and which ones aren't. We know what a dealer will move on and what they're holding firm on. We know how to read a deal sheet and spot the line items that shouldn't be there. That knowledge comes from years on the sales side of the car business, not from a YouTube video. We also handle everything most people don't want to deal with. The average buyer spends 17+ hours on this process: researching inventory, calling dealers, waiting on callbacks, talking to salesmen, and then sitting at a dealership for 4 to 5 hours going back and forth. That's before the finance office tries to add things back in at the last minute. All of that goes through us, not you. If you have the time, the patience, and the market knowledge to get a strong deal on your own, you probably don't need us. If you'd rather have someone who does this every day handle it while you do everything else, that's what Even Ground is for.
Why shouldn't I hire Even Ground? +
Honestly? If you enjoy the negotiation process, have the time to spend at a dealership going back and forth, and feel confident you know what a strong deal looks like for your specific vehicle in your current market, you may not need us. Even Ground is not for everyone. We are for people who want the process handled professionally, do not want to spend their weekend at a dealership, and would rather pay a flat fee than wonder if they left money on the table.
Do I still pay if I don't end up buying a car? +
The fee covers the work Even Ground performs on your behalf, including sourcing, research, dealer communication, and negotiation. If you decide not to move forward after work has begun, the fee is not refunded. If Even Ground is unable to locate a suitable vehicle or an error occurs on our end, we will address it directly and work toward a fair resolution.
What exactly do you negotiate? +
We negotiate purchase price, trade-in value, dealer fees, add-ons, and backend products like extended warranties and GAP insurance. On financing we advise. We review your situation and point you in the direction that makes the most sense for you, whether that is manufacturer financing, outside financing, or cash. We do not arrange financing directly.
How do you prevent the dealer from changing terms at signing? +
All agreed terms are documented in writing before your visit. When you go in, Even Ground remains on standby by phone or text. If the dealer attempts to change anything that was already agreed to, you contact us immediately and we handle it.
Who is actually negotiating my deal? +
I handle every deal personally. I founded Even Ground after close to a decade on the sales side of the car business. I know how dealers are trained, how deals are structured, and where the money is made. Every client gets my direct attention from the first call to standby at signing.
Is Even Ground affiliated with any dealership? +
No. Even Ground is fully independent with no dealer affiliations, referral arrangements, or financial relationships with any dealership. We work exclusively on your behalf.
How long does the process take? +
Most deals are completed within five to seven business days from intake form submission. Timeline depends on vehicle availability and dealer responsiveness. If you have a hard deadline, note it in your intake form and we will work around it.
Do you work on used vehicles and leases? +
Yes. Even Ground handles new and used vehicles, and both purchases and leases.
What if I already found the vehicle I want? +
That works. Share the vehicle details, dealer information, and any communication you have had so far. Even Ground takes it from there and negotiates on your behalf.
Do you work nationwide? +
Yes. Even Ground works with clients across the country. Distance from the dealership is your choice. We can work within your preferred range or search nationwide if that gets you the best deal.
